Falmouth, MA, June 6, 2016 - Today, five selectmen from Martha’s Vineyard and Falmouth, a Barnstable County Commissioner, and a Falmouth delegate announced their endorsement of Dylan Fernandes, Candidate for State Representative, citing the value of his experience at the state level and the new energy he will bring to the challenges faced by the district. They were united in their support for his vision of a more affordable, equitable, and vibrant community.
Endorsers include Mary Pat Flynn, Barnstable County Commissioner, Greg Coogan, Selectman from Oak Bluffs, Douglas Jones, Selectmen from Falmouth, Ralph Herbst, Selectman from Falmouth, Larry Gomez, Selectman from Tisbury, Richard Knabel, Selectman from West Tisbury, Art Smadbeck, Selectman from Edgartown, and Julia Taylor, Falmouth Delegate to the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates.

It is a pleasure to see a young man with his abilities and energy stand to represent the people in our district. I look forward to his accomplishments.”

We need more housing that everyone can afford, well-funded public education, and responsible environmental stewardship because our economy depends on it.”
Fernandes is a candidate for State Representative in Massachusetts who understands the seasonal complexities of the district’s economy. A fourth generation Falmouth resident, Fernandes most recently worked as Digital Director in the Office of Attorney General Maura Healey. There, he launched innovative advocacy campaigns supporting earned sick time, equal pay for equal work, and clean energy solutions. In addition, he served in the Attorney General’s Office’s Consumer Advocacy and Response and Civil Rights Division settling claims and investigating charges of discrimination. Prior to joining the AG’s staff, Fernandes worked as political director for the Maura Healey campaign as well as the Regional Field Staff for Elizabeth Warren across the SouthCoast.
